6 traits
By J/IA

Clip to ScrapBook
In my school we focused on one trait every 4-6 weeks or so, so during that time the MLs I had in WW that had to do with quality writing would go back to whatever trait we were on at the time. I basically am teaching the 6 traits lessons. I tend to pull back on the extensive whole-group activities from the 6 traits material and just condense things into minilesson form. Also, once a week or so we'd do the class evaluation on the overhead of a piece of writing--evaluating and revising it as a class and in small groups. Otherwise I was following the WW model in The Book. It's a balancing act for sure, but I think the connection is there.
