Picture Books
By Jeanne

Clip to ScrapBook
I teach 4th grade and use picture books often to teach certain skills and to introduce topics in all content areas. One of my favorites is Amelia's Notebook. I use it at the beginning of the year when I introduce the use of a Writer's notebook. There is also a resource book that goes along with Six Trait Writing. It has each trait and different picture books to use to teach the trait. The title of the book has just vanished from my mind. I will look it up and post later. In math after reading my class different picture books about Multiplication and Division I have them write their own. They make an eight page book from a large sheet of white butcher paper, write the story, and then illustrate it. They really turn out nice.
