journals

Clip to ScrapBook
Journals for adults are free time for expressing out thoughts. IT's not a structured activity or something we are made or told to do. Journal writing with preschool children should be children drawing pictures. If the child
chooses to share the journal picture that day with a teacher, then the teacher may write down the child's thoughts in the journal as well. It's a private, reflective activity that allows the child to express her feelings/thoughts, in an appropriate way. The only assessment that comes with the activity is when a child communicates something to the teacher. If the communication signals
a stress, worry, or fear, or even a happy thought, feeling, etc. the teacher can respond with the appropriate actions/words and plan additional experiences to help the child deal with her anxieties, feelings, etc.
