Year round school

I have been teaching on a year round calendar for about 8 years. I personally LOVE it! It gives me time to regroup and more time during the school year to plan. I find that I do not have to spend as much time reteaching at the beginning of the year. I don't know how much it effects the kids' behavior, but it sure makes a difference in mine. Also for me, my kids are on a traditional schedule and I am able to spend time in their classrooms while I am on break. Their first day is not the same as mine so I can take the day off to take them to their first day and meet the teachers. And it gives me some time to myself when they are in school and I'm not. For me, it works very well.
