I divide mine by subject as well. Some subjects require more room (and some less) than is given in the box, so I use my ruler to draw my own dividing lines between subjects. Also, I draw a very thin vertical line and write sideways across the whole week for restroom breaks, PE, music, lunch, recess, etc. since I do them at the same time every day.

I like the idea that was suggested of putting the number of the state objective instead of writing it out and then you can just put a copy of the objectives in the front of your planner for reference.
