Flash Cards
By Maggie

Clip to ScrapBook
My students make their own set of flashcards on index cards. I will introduce each level every one or two days. The students practice these each evening with their parents. I also give them hints on how to remember certain
fact. The students a few years ago made up a rhyme that went like this, 8 and 8 went to the store to by a nintendo 64. Any rhymes or associations will help them remember. I have a kit that we bought that is full of associations. I will try to get the name of that kit to you before the end of the summer. It was really helpful. But, by creating their own set of flashcards the students
never had the excuse that they didn't have a set. It also gave them ownership in learning their facts. They were learning the facts as they wrote them. As they always say, the more they come in contact with them the easier is will be for them. Practice, practice, practice. Good Luck!
