read alouds - 6th graders

This was my first year to teach 6th graders after spending 13 years in early childhood grades reading Junie B. Jones Ü . To my unbelief - my 6th graders still loved to be read to. To name a few books: Holes, Toliver's Secret, The Lion Witch and the Wardrobe, Poppy, Summer of the Monkeys, and the illustrated version of Swiss Family Robinson.
