Actually I think being able to build a rapport with students is a talent - not everyone can do this easily. And many of us are nervous when we do interviews. I've been fortunate and have been able to sit in on interviews
a few times now over the years - it's amazing but even through nervousness, whether or not someone would fit into your staff, is qualified, etc., does come out in the interview. In fact sometimes it was the ones who had perfect answers that we bypassed because things just sounded to rehearsed.

And I think we do not get many chances to tell others what we are good at and what we are

proud of as accomplishments so when someone asks us, we are just not ready for it. We all have talents and some are less noticeable but just as special.

At least with doing interviews you learn a bit more each time and you do get better at doing them.
