I was very surprised when my interviewer did not want to see my portfolio. He asked if I had one. I said yes and was prepared to hand it over but he said just wanted to know if you had one. Mine was full of letters of reccomendations and photos, lots and lots of photos. One of the teachers wanted to look at the pictures but the principal was not interested. I interviewed at three schools and did get a job.
I know some teachers have a box for a portfolio complete with video's ,photo albums, lessons, theme units, student work....you name it..I think as long as it is neat and in order and visible, you will be fine.
