tutoring fees

Hi Heather. I am from NJ. I know that in my area (Scotch Plains & Westfield), people charge close to $50 an hour for tutorsing services. They may make changes based on needs, but they don't seem to go under $40. Yesterday,
at a local cafe, I saw an ad for "Student to Student" tutoring where the person was charging $40 an hour! I thought thas was a little steep for a non-certified individual (I'm not even sure what grade the student was in?) I have been hesitating about charging $40 for tutoring, because I am a first year teacher. I also think that $40 an hour might be unreasonable for families in
the city that I teach in (an urban community). Just my two cents- but I think you are worth $50+ due to your triple certification! Good luck, and hope that you have a cool summer!
