Grading Writing
By Tabitha

Clip to ScrapBook
In our district we use the rubric provided to us from the state. Our students get graded in March on the DSTP for writing and reading. We were handed a copy of this rubric and one that was kid friendly. I pass out a copy of this rubric to all my students, we go over what the criteria is, and we start a basic writing lesson on description and then we read each others papers and give it a grade. This perpares them for me grading their papers and then they also know what to expect in March when the test is given out. I use a web site called http://rubistar.4teachers.org/ for all of my rubrics. You can make your own to fit whatever project you are doing.
