I teach 4/5. I print out their name in a large-ish font on the computer (3 copies), then tape them to the front and each side of their desks. This way, no matter how we rearrange our desks throughout the year, their nametag is always showing. Also, I couldn't stand the inevitable picking that went on with anything that was on their desktop--too messy and distracting! I like the magnet idea, but my students would try moving those around I think. A sub's nightmare???
