I know what you mean...

I've had some people act very snotty when I tell them where I teach. They act like it must be awful. I know what you mean about parents, but it's sad to say that most of the parents I dealt with this year, just really didn't seem to care about their kids. I try not to pass judgement and agree that many of them are working too much to make it to school programs. But, also, I've seen the way some of my students chaotic lives seem to come together. It makes me so sad, yet makes me feel even more strongly about making a difference in their lives.
