I did this last year in my class. I bought fence boards from Home Depot. We made the fence "L" shaped, so it would stand up by itself. It lasted all year. I used artifical grass that I also bought at Home Depot. It was cheap. I did layer it over carpet that was donated to me, because the cheapest artifical turf was thin. The students loved it. My theme was "Down on the Farm" I hope this helps. Good luck.
