Maybe as a class project you could build a time-line together as you study your state history (put it above the board) and you could call it Time Warp. Maybe you could have them do a bulletin board that is called "That was then, this is now" and label one side of the board "Then" and one side "Now" and make comparisons between life as it was and how it is now. You could do areas such as: in the life of a child, stores, transportation, money, housing, home life, farming then and now, etc. Good luck, I hope you get some good ideas. Krissy is always good with such creative themes. Maybe she'll think of something great.
