*PATRIOTIC FABRIC: Use fabric for bulletin board backgrounds.
*GOOD WORK BOARD: I used camouflage material for a background and put up a sign that says "Five-Star Work" with a picture of a soldier saluting. *MAP/MAIL-OUT PROJECT: I created a dog and named him "Hero." Students mailed these out all over the U.S. to find out who other peoples' heroes are. We put pins on the map when we get letters back to show where Hero has travelled. *CALENDAR FOR POSTERS: I found a patriotic calendar for 50 cents because it was for 2002. I cut it apart and laminated, I had twelve posters for my wall. *CLASSROOM REWARD: Put up a link on a red-white-blue chain for each compliment/goal earned. Set a goal for the chain to be a certain length. *NAMETAGS: Make red/white/blue name tag stars and laminate and tape to desks. *CEILING DECORATIONS: Have students make paper windsocks with construction paper and tissue paper in red white and blue to decorate your room. *BULLETIN BOARD: "Heroes in the News" with clippings from local news about everyday heroes. *STUDENT OF THE WEEK: "Your're a Grand Ol' Student!" I am going to be posting some pictures of my room on my site soon at http://www.beeyourbest.com
