Kindergarten vs first grade

I have not taught Kindergarten but I have taught preschool and subbed in K classes and taught grade one...I MUCH prefer grade one. The kids can do so much more! I would suggest trying grade one because if you didn't care for it, you could always try for K next time and you would have a years' worth of experience. People have told me that Kindergarten teachers are a "special breed" so you may find you are just not suited for any other level, but until you try...you just never know! Good luck!
