I'll be beginning teaching first grade for the first time next year. I heard an idea that I plan to use. Simply right items that you'd like to have on colorful Post-it notes. Then, stick them up on the white board. Above it you might write a heading such as "Our Class Wish List" Or "Wanted" or something similiar. When parents walk in they can view the wish list and pull off the post-its if interested in donating. Remember to create a list of items that you post to keep track.
