challenging math
By Jahquita

Clip to ScrapBook
Be careful when you present your ideas to the first grade teachers. If it sounds too challenging, they may feel that they do not have the resources to bring their teaching up to the new math level of the children when they move to first grade. They also might feel threatened by the new amount of work they will have to deal with in changing their normal curriculum. Present it as a more competent series with innovative ideas and activities that suit each person's learning "style."
