I usually look on the renlearn.com website and check to see if a test is available from Renaissance Learning and use the level they have posted. If there isn't a test, this is probably wrong of me to do, but I guess. I look at the first page at the vocabulary and compare it to other books until they appear similar.
I have written AR tests and I usually divide the book up into sections and think of a question for each section. Usually, you want just some basic recall information questions and some more upper level questions, using why????
