Our school system supplies writing paper, copy paper, construction paper, scissors, crayons, glue, markers, vis a vis, dry erase markers and jumbo pencils. If yours does not you will need: pencils, crayons, scissors, glue ( I prefer glue sticks for first graders, not as messy),water based markers, dry erase markers (if you have white boards), colored pencils, post-its, correction tape for posters you make, hi-lite tape for big books (guided reading etc), overhead markers (Vis-a-vis), transparencies, wicki stix, zip lock bags (assorted sizes), staples, stapler (maybe several if you let children use them |
| in centers), a long armed stapler (for making books),cardstock, tagboard, posterboard, blank cassette tapes (for recording books for listening center or for recording children reading for documentation, assessment),tape (scotch, postal, duct, and masking), treat jar or treasure chest (for rewards), Kleenex, paper towels, plastic or paper cups, finger paint or poster paint, paper for painting, chart tablets (two sizes/lined and unlined).....I am sure that I could add more to this list but now that I have spent your $200 about 3 times over...LOL Our system gave us $100 late in the year this year. I already had bought the above out of pocket or they furnished it, so I bought sets (six books to a set)of books at out school's Book Fair. It is amazing how much we, as primary teachers, spend out of pocket and how little the system thinks we really need!
