Reading Recovery
By Cathy-Dee

Clip to ScrapBook
Reading Recovery is a program first begun by Marie Clay. Our school uses it and it is easily modified to suit a school's needs. Basically the program is designed for K - 2 students primarily and is an intensive one-on-one
reading program for a short period of time.

Students leave the regular classroom to read with the reading recovery teacher. They usually are in the program for 8 to 12 weeks. They progress through levelled books. You can buy books I believe through the program, but there are many other levelled books that work as well. The program benefits children who are "at risk".
