circles

Clip to ScrapBook
I sort of do lit circles in my first grade classroom. You have to be willing to ability group though. Use small numbers of course of kids that have similar ability groups or at least similar interests and choose books that
will work for the members' level. I have about five kids that go out for special services for reading for half an hour and about 5 that do enrichment projects as a small group of 2 or three or individually, so the remaining 10 I break into small groups during that half hour and take turns working on a book a week with them. We do art activities with it, take turns reading, illustrations,
retelling, modeling, etc. I get to have small groups and each group on a different story that they are all interested in. I hope this helps..good luck..i love first grade!
