Clip to ScrapBook
for management I use marbles. Each group earns a marble when they are caught following directions/rules. I also give out homework passes-the students decide which night they do not want homework. Just stick and follow
through with your rules/consequences. It is a great grade. I love to do Literature Circles with them. They love it because it is very student centered. It is a good way to build their comprehension and a chance to work in groups.

Also for management you should read Harry Wong's book-The First Day of School. I follow that and believe in it. I was a first grade teacher for 2 years

before moving to first and I was worried about classroom management but it was easy. Just follow the book and remember have a procedure for everything and practice each procedure.
Anything else please feel free to email me.
