Inservices

We have our inservices at the beginning of the school year and the district has each principal turn in a schedule of the inservices. My principal tried to schedule a day for the teachers to work in their classroom and the
district inturn told her to find another speaker for that day. Sometimes the principal just doesn't have a choice. Sometimes it's how the State words legistation, if it states inservices then inservices it will be.
Teachers have to act as professionals if they want to be treated as professionals. Even if an inservice is boring we must act as a professional. Talking, grading papers,

cutting out activities while someone is speaking and presenting is nonprofessional. I too hate those long days of inservices but we would not allow students to treat us in this manner.
