Went from Kindergarten to Fourth

I hope you enjoy your transition. I am enjoying fourth grade, they are very capable, but still need the teacher for security and encouragement. I was worried I would treat them too young. I allow them to help make class| rules and consequences (and we stick to these), and I have a job chart so that everyone has a job that they keep each week. I remind them that they are too old to act childish (like when they still whine about someone cutting in line), and that we are setting examples for the younger students. Boost their feeling of responsibliity whenever you can. We use Lifeskills (responsibility, caring, |

teamwork,etc.) and Lifelong Guidelines (truth, trust, active listening, no putdowns, etc.) in our school and classroom that we use to guide our behavior and use to look when someone is doing well. Good luck.
