bad first day

Have a heart to heart with your university supervisor (whoever's coming out to observe you). It's her job (his job) to help make the placement work; it's their job to inform the master teacher what is to be expected of you and them. I agree with the other postings...Keep in mind that this was only the first day (and it sounds like a not too comfortable one at that ... 102 degrees? whew!) but, let your supervisor know ASAP that you're not feeling really welcome at the moment & hopefully she/he can help.
Good Luck and walk away from the experience with whatever you can, be it good or bad. I know that from my own experiences!
