gift for assistant

One gift I like to have my classes make for guest teachers or others who help in the class is a flower pot. I have all the children sign and decorate a large terra cotta pot using Sharpie markers. I then spray the pot, inside and out, with a sealer. We fill the pot with cute teacher supplies for someone aspiring to be a teacher. You could fill it with anything your assistant likes, maybe flower seeds, garden gloves, etc. I usually write something "teacher-like" around the rim such as: Teachers make knowledge grow.
