Mini Word Wall By Amy

I've seen a few different things that you might be able to try. One is if you have a chalk board, use half or part of it as your word wall. First cover the board with white contact paper (so the words show up good), then| put up alphabet cards for each letter and underneith place your words using half of an index card and tape or a magnet(if the board is magnetic) on the back. Or, since you are using contact paper, you can just write the words on with marker! The contact paper should peel right off at the end of the year. Or you can make "mini word walls" for each student using a file folder. All you | | need to do is use a marker to write the alphabet on and the kids can write in their own words or you can type them up on the computer and have them glue them on as you learn/use them throughout the year. I think I saw this idea in Patricia Cunningham's Four Blocks book, but I'm not sure. Hope these ideas are helpful!
