Hi Heather, Try starting with any of these thoughts... Child-Think about how you feel about children’s learning. Do you think that all children can learn? What approach do you think is best? (hands-on, cooperative learning, etc.) What do you think about individual learning styles? Should students have ownership in their learning? Teacher-Do teachers need to further their education? What are your teaching styles? Do you think you should meet the individual learning styles of students? What are you responsibilities as a teacher? Parebt-Do parents play an important part in their child's education? | | What are their responsibilities? How should they be involved?Another possibility for writing your philosophy is to start with some of these... Ö I believe people learn best when... Ö My role as a teacher is to... Ö The goal of all education should be... Ö By the end of the year, I hope that my students will... Ö My broad curriculum goals for the year are... Ö My professional goals are... Ö The purpose of assessment is to... Ö The purpose of evaluation is to... Ö The ideal learning community would be... Best of luck...hope you find something you'll be happy with soon! Let us know. ;-D
