Clip to ScrapBook
We do Outdoor Day--usually the last day of summer. When I taught at a large school I did it as a bonding actiivity for my individual class. When I moved to a smaller school, we made it a "whole school event." It definitely
pulls us together as a school.

We place the children in teams with youngsters from every grade level on each team and a seventh or eighth grade student in charge. We do various learning and fun activities--such as scavenger hunts, leaf finds, water balloon toss, etc. It's just precious to see the older students help the younger ones!

We have also done a field day and

school-wide spirit days such as "student-teacher day," "Western Day" and "Hawaii Day" Events like this interspersed throughout the school year are fun for everyone and bring the school together as a learning community.
