Pre-K
By Chrissie

Clip to ScrapBook
Universal Pre-K is primarily a nursery school/preschool program that is paid for by the state/government. It is almost like a head start program - it gives less fortunate inner city children an opportunity to participate in a preschool program. However, it is a bit different than head start because there are certain standards and requirements that the school district mandates and enforces. For example, we are required by our director to keep literacy portfolios for each child and turn them in at the end of the year to show their growth and progression. {It is basically to prove that our program is effective so that we can receive funding in the future! }
