We have inflatable reading chairs for the kids to go to when they are done their work and a stuffed animal rug that the kids like to flake out on and read.
I liked the plants idea that someone mentioned, it really brightens a room. I usually bring in some cut grocery store flowers for my desk, we estinmate how much water they will drink and guess what colors they will be when they open.
Are you allowed to have class pets? That is something else to think about, you could make a neat display with your kids about your pet as well.
