Don't sit there worrying--go ahead and call. Since the resignation deadline was only a week ago, they may still be making decisions, but you might get an idea of how many openings they ended up with and when they'll be letting people know. One polite phone call won't bother anyone, and if they're still making decisions, maybe your indication of interest will work in your favor. Good luck!
