Substitute teacher benefits

Patrick, What state are you in? I'm in Ohio (rural area) and a neighboring county just began a new system for maintaining a substitute teacher staff: They hired two full-time subs per building who report every day school is in session. Then they teach wherever they're needed. It is my understanding these subs have full benefits such as the regular teaching staff. Is this something you're advocating? I would be interested in a sub position of this nature, if the opportunity arose in any of the districts where I sub. What are your (or anyone else's reading this) thoughts concerning a sub system of this nature?
