This year I found balls made out of colored rubber bands. These can be wrapped in tissue paper and tied with a coordinating ribbon. I attached a note that wished the teachers to have a ball! When my son presented them to the teachers, he told them to be very careful with it because it was fragile. He then dropped it on the desk and watched it bounce. The rubber bands can be taken off one at a time and used by the teacher to bind items. I bought them at Wal-mart for $2.97 each.
