Number the Stars

Here are 2 things I have done with my class:
1. Make a Venn Diagram of Annemarie and Kirsti. Write all the things Annemarie and Kirsti have in common in the overlapping circle, and each of the unique characteristics in
their own circles.
After reflecting on what each person is like, write how these unique traits helped or hurt them throughout the story and why. Which of the two characters did you like best and why.
2. First reflect on all the characters in the book. Choose one you most admire and that has qualities you would like to have. Write down the character, the qualities you like about that

character, and one quality in particular that you would like to develop and possess, explaining why.
Also, add someone you know that really does have that quality already. It may be someone in the classroom, someone in your family, or someone else in history.
