LOVING K-4! ! !
By Kimberly

Clip to ScrapBook
My experience is a bit different that the post prior to mine.

I teach in a private Catholic K4-8th grade school. I do have mandated outcomes but I am free to create the units in which I teach. I have tons of freedom
to do and create as I chose. I LOVE it. I teach two sessions. First group of 10 from 7:50-11:00 and the second session from 11:30-2:40. Our school week is filled with specials from music, gym and computer. We of couse have mass once a week.
We do the circle time, story time, center time, calendar and then the academics.

I LOVE teaching this grade. 4 year olds would be and are

my FIRST choice. I do not have to worry about the Iowa Basics - and do not have near the paperwork to fill out that the other teachers do. At the end of the day I too am pooped -but is is SO WORTH it. I am still in awe that they pay me to do this.

I would be delighted to chat with you and share any ideas or answer any questions you have. You have nothing to be afraid of 4 year olds are so forgiving - if you make a mistake, they don't know and they will still think you are the greatest teacher ever - afterall, you are probably the first one they have ever had!

Blessings
Kimberly
