Clip to ScrapBook
I know a few teachers who run off a sheet with all of the centers for the week listed. Each child gets a sheet. They collect all of their weekly work in a folder which they are responsible for. As the week goes along and
the teacher has time, she checks the folder and stamps or marks the centers on the childs sheet to signify they are done. a big circle around an unsatisfactory effort let's the teacher know a center must be rechecked. Friday (or Thurs) is a makeup day and any child who has not completed their weekly work or done a satisfactory effort, does not have their sheet completed by the teacher. (The
teacher has also made notes of who needs to make up what.) Friday (Thurs) has more free time, fun type activities for those who have been responsible and completed their work. Those who need help must get some from another student or adult each day as needed and not wait until the end of the week. The parents are also aware of the sheet and can look for it each Fri with any notes made by the teacher. These are first and second graders. They like the independence and personal record keeping.
