Sewn notebooks?
By Julie

Clip to ScrapBook
Help me out there, Debbie - what are the sewn notebooks? Like memo notebooks?
Also, how do you test their high frequency word list? I've been going through their journals and if I see that they are consistently misspelling
a word, I circle it. Then they put a check by it on their high frequency list. Now, next year, I will have them use those for their individual lists (now that I think I have a way to manage them) and also do the mini-lessons. They also each have a spelling dictionary in which they can go through and write their spelling words each week for reference. I like your idea about having
it in the back of their notebook as a reference - I'll have to figure out how to do that one for next year!
Do you have your "buddies" give each other their pretests and tests? And one more question, what grade do you have? Thanks for your help - my wheels are beinning to turn!
