fitting it in

OK, I've decided to try bits and pieces for the remainder of the year. I do the IR, have the Shared Reading, and do the Lit. groups, plus part of the writing workshop. I turned my Language into mini-lessons as they did| - just started today and the first one was successful. My coworker and I are going to level and prepare this summer to start right away for next year. I am thinking I will want to try and assess a couple students as run-throughs for finding their levels. What do you think? I certainly want to know what is working and isn't working for others, so I can take notes. Any other thoughts | |
as to what parts I should trial-run yet this year. I can't believe we're half way through the year already!
BTW, I really liked the management of the writing notebooks by having small groups turn them in on certain days - very clever! Sometimes those simple things make me feel so out of the loop!
