Comprehension strategies
By Debbie

Clip to ScrapBook
Hi all,
Just another 'plug' for getting the Guiding Readers and Writers book. There's an entire section on the 'testing genre' and how to help your children transition from a literacy classroom to the single dimension fill in the bubble tests. One thing that did help my kids as well was to order the 'Scoring High' practice booklets for the test and GL you're teaching. Since I don't really use any worksheets, my kids were at a disadvantage because the test language and format were so foreign. So we ordered these booklets and each page gives test practice, hints on what the testing vocabulary means, and general test taking skills. Definitely worth looking into.
Take care, and join us to discuss GR & W. ;-D
