Hello Readers & Writers
By Samantha

Clip to ScrapBook
Hi everyone! Here I am! I had my share of Elaine's luck. I have the worst sinus infection you can imagine, and the snow in the south has everyone acting crazy. I have been without electricty off and on for 4 days (at
one point we were without it from about 5:00pm-3:30pm). Boy, that was awful, but I did get some reading, by candle light, done. Elaine, how was your trip to the dentist? Are you better now?
I have never been apart of an online book club before, but as usual, Debbie has some great ideas. Do we want to read it in order, or focus on the reading sections first? Do we want to wait to
give others the chance to get the book? See, this is my contribution today: no answers, just questions. You have to forgive me though- it's antibotics (you know what that means Elaine) and pain killers.
I can't tell you what I would give for a class like Erica's. I already set aside 2 of LA, and I can combine my SSR and Guided Reading to get and hour for Reading Workshop. I have about 30 minutes for Word, but I don't know where I am going to get another 30 minutes for writing to make an hour for Writing workshop.
I think the first three chapters are a great overview of the 3 Block Program, and I can hardly wait to read the next chapters in depth. My only question is what about grades for both reading and writing? Where do they come from? And tests? Are there any? I am just scared!! All the independent work is so scary. It really is a control thing, I know. Giving up that control is going to be very hard. Any suggestions?
