Yes, it's worth it!

Yes, the book is very overwhelming and yes, it is worth it. It has some great ideas, but you can't do it all. I think everyone would love a classroom like Erica's in the book. Realistically, I can't spend 2 1/2 hours on reading and writing. Someone on the board has suggessted that reading chapters 1-3 by Jan.5th and then teachers will talk about it on the board. I know that it will motivate me to read it all. Good luck!
