Can't wait to discuss!
By Erica

Clip to ScrapBook
What you are all discussing sounds exactly like what I have been contemplating (since October) in my head of how to get started. Elaine, you are right on track! The only peice that you have slightly altered is the aspect
of how the students aare grouped (and u know that). F&P recommend grouping students in levels and choosing 1 book for each leveled group to read at a time (during Guided instruction). You obviously understand that, and I think your reasoning for not doing it is completely valid! As teachers, we know what works best for out kids. Your students are so used to and love having the choice
of what they want to read regardlessof level and that is what reading is all about! As long as we teach them how to be concientious readers and when to know that a particular book may be too challenging to read alone. The fun part for students is knowing that they have options! So Koudos to you
Til we all chat again- Erica
