problem solving
By Cheryl

Clip to ScrapBook
My district has adopted Marilyn Burns as a supplement to our curriculum, also The Problem Solver (available at different grade levels). We also use Math Exemplars. I use the following steps in the problem solving process:
1. What is the Question?
2. What do I know?
3. Solve the problem using numbers, words, or pictures. Remember to label all work.
4. Check back to see if you answered the question.
5. Explain step by step how you got your answer.
