Problem solving
By Debbie

Clip to ScrapBook
Hi Pam,
Try getting the book, Cognitively Guided Instruction by Carpenter and Fennema, published by NCTM and Heinemann. It has two CDroms with lots of examples, etc. Probably the book that changed the way I view mathematics, is Living And Learning Mathematics. It's not a new publication (about 10 years old) but it really caused me to examine why my mathematics curriculum didn't match what I believe about children's LA literacy learning. Also see anything by David Whitin. If you go to NCTM or Heinemann sites...you'll find other great possibilities. If you want something specific, please email or post again. Best of luck. ;-D
