Clip to ScrapBook
Here is an activity that I use. Each student gets a piece of paper and folds it in half. They put a few dabs of paint on the paper near the fold and then squish the paper together and rub (not out to the edge or it will be a mess). They open up their paper and they see mirror images on each side of the fold. Speaking of mirrors, we take alphabet letters and draw just half of it on paper where they think the line of symmetry is. Then they take a mirror and put it up against the side of the letter part where they think the line is and see if the reflection makes the whole letter appear. If not, that is not the line of symmetry and they try a different way. They also find that all letters are not symmetrical. Hope this helps!
