Estimation Jar

We have a weekly estimation jar that a students fills. On Friday, students write down the estimate, then I pass out the items - sometimes I have students group by fives, twos, threes. We add the totals together and then students find the difference between their estimate and the actual amount. The person closest to the estimate wins a lollipop. The students love it. I hope this helps.
