Go for it!

Hello Mr. C!!

I don't think the question is whether or not you would be throwing away the last 7 years of your life, but whether you would be throwing away THE REST of your life. If you are doing something that you do
not feel truly passionate about (i.e. computer work) then the answer would be yes, you are throwing it away. Everything you've done in your life is important in some way. Maybe it took you getting this degree to realize that you actually want to teach? Maybe I am looking too deeply into it? You have to look ahead in your life instead of behind. If you don't get your teacher certification
you will most likely regret it for the rest of your life, and you will end up wasting a whole lot more than 7 years. You must do something you are passionate about - don't just settle for computer work because you already have that degree. You sound like you are going to make an excellent teacher as you seem to really want it with all your heart! So I say enroll at the University for the Spring semester. It would not be fun to look back on your life after so many years as a computer guy and realize you should have gone for that teaching degree! Follow your dreams and do what you WANT! Let me know!!
